We carried out face to face interviews with more than 50 disabled young people on behalf of national disability sports organisations.

Our aim was to understand why these young people’s participation in sport and physical activity declines after leaving compulsory education.

Outcomes:

  • Our findings helped the client to understand the factors that influence disabled young people’s engagement with sport and physical activity.
  • We recommended strategies that different stakeholder groups can use to support these young people to remain physically active.
